Servings

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (1/2 stick)
  • 1 whole shallot (finely diced)
  • 2 whole garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1 to taste kosher salt
  • 1 to taste freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves (minced)
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 packages Classic Mashed Potatoes (prepared)

Directions

  1. 1

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the shallot and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

Increase the heat to medium-high. Add the wine and cook until reduced by half, about 4 minutes. Season with salt.

  3. 3

Stir in the thyme, cream and mustard. Simmer until thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon, about 10 minutes.

  4. 4

Stir in the cheese and season with salt and pepper. Serve hot over the mashed potatoes.

Oh wow. This one sounds delicious. I can’t try it over some potatoes. I feel like potato wedges might be good too.
